There’s no shortage of offerings with #MIEVENTS!
Unique F&B Experiences
This year, 2019, was about wining and dining like kings and queens and JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar served above and beyond. This property is known for hosting large gatherings and events with culinary maestros, like the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar’s recent 4th Anniversary in April that brought 6 distinguished chefs, 3 famed mixologists, and 3 culinary venues together to make 1 supreme brunch. Complete with month-long festivities and celebrations, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar’s event planning team left no stone unturned, creating a colossal spread featuring the combined brilliance of creations from JW Cafe, JW Lounge and Romano’s, pronounced as ‘Brunch Square’. The chefs dazzled guests with music, creativity, live kitchen shows, delectable dishes and pure gastronomic magic!
Imagine not only meeting your favorite celebrity chef but also preparing food with them! At Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach, you can have special guest chef appearances and customized workshops. Celebrity pastry chef Jason Licker, winner of Iron Chef Thailand and a James Beard nominee, made a special appearance at the hotel during June’s Licker Pastry Take Over event. He conducted a week of pop-up sessions ranging from daily afternoon tea with Thai flavors to modern Italian, Australian and Western-themed desserts. Sweet treats and internationally-recognized cuisine aside, the hotel team also integrated a complimentary kids’ cookie decorating class that was popular with children and parents, creating a great opportunity for Chef Licker to interact with little chefs-to-be as he taught them how to decorate cookies with premium ingredients. There’s nothing better than a surprise Meet-and-Learn event with a celebrity chef like Jason Licker!
Meeting Break
With great food comes great ideas! For a unique meeting break, the events team at Le Méridien Cyberport does not disappoint with its snacks for creative brainstorming. At Marriott’s Road to K meeting, Le Méridien Cyberport used its tranquil and picturesque location to create a conducive atmosphere for productivity. Attendees kickstarted their day in a wholesome fashion with a selection of energy bars, fresh fruits and detox drinks for breakfast. The first coffee break saw food offerings with an innovative Asian theme such as Thai-style pandan jelly and vegetable spring rolls. An afternoon coffee break rejuvenated guests with an assortment of sweet and savory snacks from a D.I.Y popcorn bar to Le Méridien’s signature eclairs. Finally, integrating sustainability into the event, food was served using eco-friendly, low-carbon, plastic-free recyclable and renewable utensils.
Themed Spaces
Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay’s Gourmet Gatsby takes the cake for being the best-themed venue. The evening was a nod to the Silvester Brothers – one of Sydney’s most renowned butchers and providore from the 1920s who once occupied the very space where Sydney Harbour Marriott stood. Gourmet Gatsby transformed the chef-hatted Silvester’s Restaurant into a culinary wonderland for this stand-up cocktail-style affair of gourmet stations, flowing wine, performances and more, accompanied by live jazz and swing musicians performing prohibition-era crowd favorites. The culinary experience was prepared by Michelin Star-trained Raphael Szurek, featuring a wine tower, a fountain centerpiece, and specialty-themed digestifs.
At the MICE Showcase 2019, guests were first welcomed at the Garden of Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay. Exciting melodies were churned out by a brass quartet and a delightful spread of light refreshments such as finger food and summery beverages was set up. Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay’s event planning team curated bespoke spaces at the event’s indoor venue to showcase different themes to highlight specific cuisines, furnished with food trucks and entertainment and party area. From Japanese and Asian food to Western snacks, guests were treated to a wide variety of dishes, desserts and alcoholic beverages in the Sweets and Bar Zones.
Outdoor Events

Indulge in the perfect mix of refined French style and Pacific Island warmth at Le Méridien Noumea Resort & Spa in New Caledonia. The hotel team welcomed a group from New Zealand that was on a team-building incentive trip. A summer soirée filled with 6 French-themed workshops, games and delectable gastronomy at the hotel’s beachfront garden, guests had plenty of options spending an afternoon out in the sun. Each workshop station boasted tailored décorーwine boxes, grapes and wine bottles for the wine workshop and intricate glasses, cocktail utensils and fruits for the cocktails workshop. For those who don’t mind breaking a few sweats, a tug of war on the beach or a game of bocce can be great options as team building activities. Plenty of sun loungers and air loungers were put on the lawn and along poolside for those who enjoy basking in the sun and chilling over a few beers or cocktails.
Marriott Phuket Resort & Nai Yang Beach proves to be a haven for flawless service and one-of-a-kind outdoor events. The Royal Enfield Twins Motorcycle Launch & Media Ride invited journalists from Southeast Asia to convene in Phuket. The event planning team utilized the property’s 2,454 square feet of flexible event space and took the media launch out to the stunning lawn where fairy lights, exhibitions, motorcycles and hearty Thai-inspired buffets were set up. The palm tree-lined lawn was the perfect outdoor event space.
